Known as the “easier” route; less steep but longer acclimatization. Only route with hut accommodations. More comfortable but less scenic than Machame.

Day 1

Arrival

Arrival, briefing, and overnight at Keys Hotel, Moshi.

Day 2

Trek Marangu Gate (1830m) → Mandara Hut (2700m) – rainforest.

Trek to Horombo Hut (3720m) – moorland.

Day 4

Acclimatization hike to Zebra Rock (4050m), optional hike to Mawenzi.

Day 5

Trek to Kibo Hut (4700m) – alpine desert.
